We visited the library recently and I wanted to share with you guys the books we picked up. Visiting the library is one of the best things to both me and Spike. She loves it because she gets undivided attention and to read as many books as she can find, and I love it to nurture her love of reading.
We’re really lucky that our libraries have good opening hours. The one in our town is open until 7pm some nights, and the one in the city, 6 miles away, is open on a Sunday. Its often on a rainy sunday that we take shelter there and thats what we did last weekend. Usually we just visit the kids section, but this time I had a look in the YA section and treated myself to the newest book by a favourite author of mine too.
We picked up:
- Moonrise – Sarah Crossan
- The Baby Who Wouldn’t Sleep – Helen Cooper
- Mr Large in Charge – Jill Murphy
- I Can Only Draw Worms – Will Mabbitt
- Claude All At Sea – Alex T Smith
- A Forest – Marc Martin
- This is My Book – Mick Inkpen
- Bob and Flo; The Missing Bucket – Rebecca Ashdown
- Amazing Daddy – Rachel Bright
- Princess Daisy and the Dragon and the Nincompoop Knights – Steven Lenton
I have already reviewed Princess Daisy, we loved it! And my review for Moonrise is coming up soon. Even though we only went to the library a week and a half ago all but one of these books have been read and loved by Spike. The last one, I Can Only Draw Worms will be read tonight and hopefully we’ll love it just as much. We’ve read Claude All At Sea twice because Spike wanted ‘the doggy one!’ and I think I’m going to hide The Baby Who Wouldn’t Sleep as we read that one last night and she took an hour to go to sleep!
Have you read any of these? Let me know your thoughts on them too!
