No Books Allowed (#6)

Welcome to No Books Allowed. This is a new monthly feature hosted here, which is used to discuss things things in life which aren’t connected to books. This post can be used to talk about days out, music, TV, video games, films etc for all those book bloggers out there who do occasionally do stuff other than read and go to book events!

So June… June was boring. Sorry guys!
At the beginning of June I went into Manchester to meet up with the wonderful Cait from The Cait Files… but we mostly chatted books so I can’t really mention much about that on my no books allowed post can I?! I did have lots of fun though and am sad that we didn’t use our close proximity to meet up more before she started taking the publishing industry by storm (Good luck with the new job Cait!)

That was pretty much my highlight, my sister visited and I went for a lovely meal with some friends but other than that I didn’t do much by way of actually leaving the house! Like I said, June was a bit boring!
Photo a Day Challenge:
One thing I have been involved in during June is the Fat Mum Slim June photo a day challenge on Instagram… I really love Instagram and I am really enjoying this challenge, so much so I may join in with next months too! There are a lot of people joining in and there are a lot of really good photographers so its making me more interested in photography and getting things looking really good, I was really impressed with this one which I took on a walk with the boyfriend, the way the trees are reflecting on the brook is really mesmerising and it has ducks (which have been known to wander into my backyard) in it!
Again I haven’t been listening to much music either. In my car I currently have one of the Warped Tour compilations on the go because its summery and lets face it, I need summery music as the actual season isn’t offering much in the way of good weather right now!
I’ve checked out the new Jimmy Eat World album as really love it, their new song ‘I Will Steal You Back’ gets stuck in my head very quickly so I’ve been (badly) singing it lots too!
I also checked out a band which was recommended to me through Spotify and really liked them. They were called The Pierces and I believe they are a sister duo from like New York or something. I don’t always trust Spotify to recommend stuff but it actually worked this time!

I haven’t played much either this month but my partner and I played a but of LittleBigPlanet Karting which was so much fun… this however led to a discussion at work about MarioKart and when I admitted I’d never played any Mario games at all I was branded a criminal by my workmates. This prompted me to play the only Mario game we have in the house which is MarioKart and that was so much more fun. I was playing on a DS and I can imagine the games are so much better on GameCube and the like but I will have to wait to find out!
That is pretty much it this month. As I said, June was a little boring especially as I am trying to save some money for the EuroGamer Expo in September! I will try and make July more interesting for you! If you want to join in with No Books Allowed please include the link to your post below. Thanks!
