In My Mailbox (#3)

In my mailbox is a meme hosted by The Story Siren as a way of letting people know what books you picked up this week, either from publishers or in the shop/library yourself. You can find more out about it here.

This week Steve the Stegosaurus says hello… you will be introduced to all of my dinosaurs… I assure you of that.

I got some really cool things in my mailbox this week… with lots of thanks to a couple of awesome bloggers!
First of all I got signed copies of Fallen and Torment by Lauren Kate! These were won from Sarah at Feeling Fictional in her 1st Blogoversary give-away. It was such a surprise to win and I was so excited! thank you so much Sarah!

Then the wonderful Becky The Bookette was really kind and sent me her extra ARC of Shadows on the Moon by Zoe Marriott. I can’t wait to start this one, I’m currently reading Zoe’s Daughter of the Flames and whilst I’ve been told they are totally different Zoe’s writing is so so beautiful I don’t mind the stories being completely different!

Of course my book addiction is strong so when I went into town yesterday I HAD to go into the Oxfam book shop… I cant help myself! Luckily the pretty hardback copy of Inkheart by Cornelia Funke that I saw last week was still there and my will power wasn’t as strong as last week so I bought it! For only £2 I couldn’t say no really could I?!

Then last but not least is a book that I bought under the guise that it’s for my boyfriends son. Lord Loss by Darren Shan. This book came out just as I thought I was getting a bit old for Darren Shan. I read the Saga  of… books when I was younger and I loved them. Unfortunately being the kind person I am I gave all of them, yes all… 🙁 to my younger cousin and never got them back. I loved those books but when Lord Loss came out I was a teenager and too cool for it obviously… I have heard good thins about the lord loss series though so I bought it for L and I plan on borrowing it from him at some point 😉

So that is my haul this week. Hope you enjoyed, and of course I hope you like Steve… He might cry if you don’t… he’s a sensitive stegosaurus!

I loved Inkheart, yet as per normal, I still haven’t finished the series.
Fab books there. You will be able to read the Lauren Kate ones before the next set come out.

  • Cicely

I still need to read Inkheart! But I’ve read most of the Darren Shan books and I really liked them. I don’t think they’re scary though… And I want Shadows on the Moon! It looks brilliant!
Happy reading! *waves to Steve* 😉

@Viv omg, If I had a pound for every series I haven’t finished! I’d be rich! Unfortunately getting the first in hardback means that I’ll want the other in it too so it’ll be a while before I get them too I think!

@cicely I loved the Darren Shan books too, my stepson is only 11 though so I dunno how he’ll take it. I’ve told him if its too scary he can stop reading! And stave says hi too!

@Librarysnake: I love the covers for both Fallen and Torment, unfortunately Fallen is an arc so its just blank here but I’ll just have to save a pic of the cover on my computer or something lol!

@Christy: I just finished Daughters of the flames and Zoe’s writing is beautiful so I cant wait for Shadows now! think I’ll have to read it soon! 😀 Thank you for the follow! I totally have an obsession with dinos as you can tell! hehe

@Leanne_Luce: Isn’t it just! 😀 We are bargain queens! I’m gunna start going to car boot sales soon I think, though I don’t know where any are near me! 🙁

Oh look at Steve! I think stegasaures (SP?!) are my absolute favourite.

Also, I loved Inkheart but didn’t finish the series as I stopped loving them as much as they went on.

I like Fallen OK, but Torment changed my entire opinion of the series and now I’m dying to read the next book in the series.
