This week is a big week! It was my birthday last Sunday and after I posted last weeks IMM my sister came to see me! (which always results in books!)
This was the impressive gift pile from my sister! π brought to me in an awesome Dinosaur gift bag! (She knows me so well!)
Candy – Kevin Brooks
Kissing the Rain – Kevin Brooks
How to Ruin a Summer Vacation – Simone Elkeles
Practical Magic – Alice Hoffman
Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman – Haruki Murakami
I couldnt believe the ones she picked… The two Kevin brooks were bought in a charity shop (she’d already blown her budget on my presents but saw them and couldnt resist! I dont mind! lol) and she didnt even know Id had my eye on them as I keep forgetting to add them to my wishlist!!
Then the other… well I adore Alice Hoffmans writing and Practical Magic has been my favourite movie for years! Also she loved that Summer Vacation wasnt set in the US or UK thats why she chose that one! Finally… Haruki Murakami?! I haven’t read anything but heard AMAZING things and she knows that I love Japanese stuff so she got me this collection of short stories! π I just have to find a time to get all these read now!
Now for my real mailbox this week!
Bought:
Ghostgirl – Tonya Hurley
Wintercraft – Jenna Burtenshaw
I finished my book buying ban on my birthday and treated myself to these beauties! Cant wait to get them read!
For Review:
Betrayal – Lee Nicholls
After Obsession – Carrie Jones & Steven E Wedel
The Crimson Shard – Teresa Flavin
It was a great review book week this week! I got the first Lee Nichols book last week and jumped at the chance for the second as I know I will love it! (Havent read it yet though!) then After Obsession… have you seen that cover! I wanted it as soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb so I was bouncing when it came! Thanks Bloomsbury for both of these!!
However much I was bouncing for After Obsession though didnt compare to how excited I got when I got the email offering me The Crimson Shard. I read and LOVED The Blackhope Enigma and thius sequel has been on my wishlist since I read the first book… I couldnt reply to Templar quick enough. I CANNOT wait to read this, even though its not out til October!!
Gifted/Won
Forbidden – Tabitha Suzuma
Misfit – Jon Skovron
Thank you Laura from Scattered Figments… I have had my eye on Forbidden forever and didnt get round to buying it, but when Laura realised it was my birthday she said I could have her copy!! *Bounces* It sounds amazing! π
Then I also won Abrams &Chronicles twitter giveaway for Misfit!! π it sounds fun and demon-y! Thanks Abrams!
And finally, last but not least…
I GOTS A KINDLE!!!!!!
(even if Tony the T-rex is trying to eat it!)
soooo excited to read my first book on this!!

I will try and post the other ebooks I get onto my mailbox next week! If I remember!

What a great week – your sister has great taste and if you’re anything like me you’ll LOVE Betrayal. At least, I haven’t read it yet but I did get a copy this week because I ADORED Deception and I’ve really struggled to find YA books I like so I guess that’s saying something. Suppose you’ll be vanishing for a bit to catch up? π
