Goodnight Baby Moon – James Mitchem & Claire Patane

Goodnight Baby Moon light up book for bedtime with biscuit

“The Rabbits gazed at the Moon and its cool, gentle light…

While out for their walk on a warm summer night.”

This very special bedtime tale about the moon is sure to set little ones on their own journey of amazing dreamland discoveries.

Featuring a family of rabbits who spend their time looking at the moon, the story is a sweet, quick read about how the moon changes through the month and how it goes away but comes back again. Its the perfect way to teach little ones about the phases of the moon and how it disappears once a month then makes its way back into our skies.

At only a few pages long the beautiful illustrations, rabbit silhouettes and the light up aspect of the front of the book are what makes it truly unique. Spike loved making the moon shine bright and pointing at each rabbit in turn. We used the book during the day as a little counting book and a point and name book as Spike loves those at the moment. But I loved it as a bedtime book because it really does have that sleepy feel.

The book is heavy so Spike struggled to really get into it but as a bedtime book I don’t think that matters too much. The front cover is a beautiful, strong hardback due to the battery compartment in the back and the front feels great to touch. The writing is embossed and you can feel each of the stars. I was bowled over by the book as soon as I saw it!

DK Have put together a beautiful video to accompany the book too, which makes me want to treasure it even more:

Goodnight Baby Moon will be published on October 5th by DK. My copy was sent to me in exchange for an honest review.
