TBR Pile

From the Review Pile (#7)

From the Review Pile is a meme created by Stephanie over at Stepping Out of the Page. Designed to highlight the books that we have have sitting on our review piles and tbr shelves for far too long, it gives books the little bit of extra publicity they deserve. You can find out more about the meme here and you can follow the link above to Stephanie’s blog.

So last year for my birthday, which is in August so this is nearly a year and a half ago… I asked my lovely male type thing to buy me some US Hardback books as they are a bit pricey and I really really wanted them but they either didn’t have a UK publisher or I really wasn’t impressed with the UK covers. Cue me receiving Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma for my birthday, it going on my shelve and, well, staying there until now. I seriously don’t know why I havent picked this up yet and most of all why I didnt wait for the paperback version to come out and saved myself (well the male) some money! It sounds fantastic and I’ve read amazing reviews but alas, its still just sitting there!

Chloe’s older sister, Ruby, is the girl everyone looks to and longs for, who can’t be captured or caged. When a night with Ruby’s friends goes horribly wrong and Chloe discovers the dead body of her classmate London Hayes left floating in the reservoir, Chloe is sent away from town and away from Ruby.

But Ruby will do anything to get her sister back, and when Chloe returns to town two years later, deadly surprises await. As Chloe flirts with the truth that Ruby has hidden deeply away, the fragile line between life and death is redrawn by the complex bonds of sisterhood.

With palpable drama and delicious craft, Nova Ren Suma bursts onto the YA scene with the story that everyone will be talking about
