Bookish and Blogish news is my weekly wrap up of the news around the YA industry and my blog this week. This includes cover reveals, new book announcements, new author sign ups, book trailers, blog tours and more. I hope you enjoy!


Writes of Passage competition launched

The lovely folk over at World Book Day have teamed up with Children’s Laurette Malorie Blackman to launch a campaign to find the top 50 ultimate teen tomes and they want your help! 
If you head on over to the World Book Day ‘Writes of Passage’ website you nominate your favourite and most memorable book as a teen reader, and, best of all, adults can get involved too by telling them what theirs was from back in the day! 
This is such a brilliant campaign especially as it involves everyone and just to sweeten the deal by entering you are put into a prize draw to win all 50 books when the list is announced on next years World Book Day (March 6th).
Entries are open until 17th January but you should definitely head on over now to share your nomination! 
Books With Bite Website relaunch
The wonderful guys over at Hatchette Children’s Books have relaunched their Books With Bite site. Previously the site and brand was used to promote their fantasy and paranormal books but with a rebrand they have included contemporary, thriller and sci-fi books all conveniently colour coded. The site is split into three brackets and tells you about news from the general book industry, new titles from Hatchette and has features such as top ten dystopians you may have missed.
There will be lots more to come from the site but its looking pretty darn good now so be sure to check it out
The Lost Journals of Benajmin Tooth website launch
There is a new website for the Mackenzie Crook book, The Lost Journals of  Benjamin Tooth. Its pretty darn cool with wallpapers and videos of Mackenzie Crook, of Office and Pirates of the Caribbean fame,  talking about the book. There is also an extract and you can join in the treater hunt to find the statue that it spoken about in the book. 
The book sounds great and I can’t wait to read it but this website made me want to even more!! 
Siobhan Curham joins with Netmums to try and tackle bullying head on. 
The amazing and incredibly talented Siobhan Curham, author of Finding Cherokee Brown and Dear Dylan, has joined forces with massive parenting website Netmums to him parents who’s children are being bullied. Siobhan will be a writer in residence for the site providing articles about bullying like the different types of bullying and how to build confidence etc in your child. In addition Siobhan is publishing a new ebook which is aimed at teens who are being bullied and will feature case studies and exercises to help victims. 
The ebook launches during National Anti Bullying Week which runs from the  17th November until the 23rd and you can find out more about the ebook via this link. 
Far From You by Tess Sharpe Cover reveal
Look at the shiny! Firce Fiction, the online presence for publisher Indigo have revealed this awesome gif version of the cover which will adorn the shelves for Far From You. This was the first I had heard about the book but it looks and sound fantastic and the Indigo guys are very excited for its release on March 27th next year, so carry on reading for the blurb!
