Bookish & Blogish News (#43)

Bookish and Blogish news is my weekly wrap up of the news around the YA industry and my blog this week. This includes cover reveals, new book announcements, new author sign ups, book trailers, blog tours and more. I hope you enjoy!

Covers revealed for Chronicles of Ixia by Maria V Snyder

The wonderful people at MiraInk are releasing the Chronicles of Ixia by Maria V Snyder. I did believe that these covers were for books 4-6 but they have the same titles as 1-3, but I wanted to share them anyway as they are very beautiful. I love the subtly of them and they kinda caught my eye!

#Summeratthebeach and #Murderonthebeach by Indigo/Fierce Fiction

To celebrate summer and the above fantastic releases Indigo are using their online alter-egos Fierce Fiction to host a raft of competitions and fun activities. During July they will be asking people to take part in #Summeratthebeach, sharing their perfect books for lounging by the pool, on the beach or in the park on hot summers days.
In August they will switch to #Murderonthebeach and this will include blog posts and tours from the authors James Dawson and Kate Harrison. Look out for more news from the Indigo team at @Fiercefiction and the authors’ twitter accounts @_Jamesdawson and @Katewritesbooks
Book Trailer: Phoenix by SF Said

This has to be one of the most intriguing book trailers ever. I was semi-interested in this book, due for release in August from Random House imprint David Fickling Books, but now I need to read it!
Ihave included the blurb and cover below for anyone interested.

Goodreads Summary:

Lucky thinks he’s an ordinary Human boy. But one night, he dreams that the stars are singing – and wakes to find an uncontrollable power rising inside him.
Now he’s on the run, racing through space, searching for answers. In a galaxy at war, where Humans and Aliens are deadly enemies, the only people who can help him are an Alien starship crew – and an Alien warrior girl, with neon needles in her hair.
Together, they must find a way to save the galaxy. For Lucky is not the only one in danger. His destiny and the fate of the universe are connected in the most explosive way . . .

The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell

Randhom House are also rereleasing The Quaint Trilogy books from The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell on August 1st. The new covers for these books are fantastic and definitely make me interested in the series. I wasn’t aware of the books before but they are bestsellers following their original release in 2006 and 2007. The new covers are much better, in my opinion than the older ones so I’ll be trying to get hold of these ones.

Thats all from me…. things have been a little busy lately so I apologise for any lack of posts, especially these news posts, and if I haven’t replied to any emails, tweets or comments, I am on a mission with work and personal stuff and I’m trying to keep on top of reading but thats making the actual blogging aspect not as focussed! I hope everyone is doing good though and is still continuing to enjoy reading my blog!
