Bookish News

Bookish and Blogish News (#37)

Bookish and Blogish news is my weekly wrap up of the news around the YA industry and my blog this week. This includes cover reveals, new book announcements, new author sign ups, book trailers, blog tours and more. I hope you enjoy!

I’m running a little low on energy of late and I must apologise if I haven’t left comments on your blog and stuff like that… I am trying to be better but I seem no to have enough hours in my day at the moment. Here’s a quick update on some news from the past couple of days though!

Playing Tyler by T L Costa Cover Reveal

Strange Chemistry revealed the cover for T L Costa’s Playing Tyler, a really intriguing kind of possibly pshycological novel coming in July 2013. It looks quite war like from the cover the blurb sounds like I need to read it to find out more!
Keep telling yourself – it’s just a game… it’s just a game.

Tyler MacCandless can’t focus, even when he takes his medication. He can’t focus on much of anything except caring for his older brother, Brandon, who’s in rehab. Just when it seems like his future is on a collision course with a life sentence at McDonald’s, his mentor Rick asks him to test an incredible new video game. If his score’s high enough, it could earn him a place in flight school. But then Brandon goes MIA and Tyler discovers that the game is far more than it seems…

Unhinged by AG Howard Cover Reveal

So this series hasto possibly have the best covers ever! I have Splintered but unfortunately havent read it yet… but yesterday Abrams and Chronicle shared this, the cover for Unhinged, which will be published next January! Here’s the summary for you too:
Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole. She was crowned Queen of the Red Court and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the boy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly appealing Morpheus. Now all she has to do is graduate high school.

That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland – where she (partly) belongs.

Could she leave Jeb and her parents behind again, for the sake of a man she knows has manipulated her before? Will her mother and Jeb trust her to do what’s right? Readers will swoon over the satisfying return to Howard’s bold, sensual reimagining of Carroll’s classic.
