Splintered – AG Howard Book Trailer

How cool is this book trailer for Splintered by AG Howard?! I love the music to it and it has made me want to read the book even more! Thankfully my copy is on its way. If you want a copy its now available at all good bookstores and online. You can also enter a competition to win a copy on my lovely friend Emma’s blog here

Goodreads Summary:
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

For those of you that don’t want to watch this trailer as you haven’t read the first book and don’t want spoilers, maybe watch the trailer below for the first book!
Costa Book Awards announced

The Costa book awards winners were announced on Wednesday and not only were all five category winners female, an awesome book which I read not too long ago won the Children’s Book of the Year award. Maggot Moon by Sally Garnder was just mindblowing. I’m still not certain I get it all but something stuck with me after reading it and it was pretty darn emotional. I would really recommend it to anyone, my review can be read here
That’s everything from me this week. There was some excitement caused on Facebook about the US cover of the next book in the Divergent series but its not confirmed and its all unofficial so I’m not sure whats going on with that. I will be sure to share it when it does come! Thanks
