Letterbox Love

Letterbox Love (#44)

Welcome to Letterbox Love, this is a UK meme, hosted by the lovely Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and inspired by The Story Siren’s In My Mailbox. This post is a means by which to highlight the books we get in the post and beyond, and especially to bring attention to those books which may be sat on our shelves for a little while yet that we love all the same.

I was feeling quite unloved this week, until yesterday when most of these books arrived at once! There are some fantastic books here and I can’t wait to get reading! Thanks to all pubs.
For Review:

The Wonderful Nina at Indigo sent me a finished copy of Siege and Storm becuase I was having trouble reading the beast of a proof which contained both Shadow & Bone and Seige and Storm. Even better than receiving the book was finding that Nina and the Indigo team shouted out to all the bloggers who have reviewed the first book in the series and helped spread the word about this brilliant series! That made me feel so special, Thank you Indigo!

This is a 7+ book and in all honesty I have no clue what it’s about. I believe its the first in a new series about a young girl figuring stuff out about her life. This first one centres around the Grandpa she hasn’t seen since her Dad died. I might give it a read but I’m not sure if its really my kinda thing… Thanks to Quercus for sending me it

OMGOSH I have been dying to read this book since I went to the Walker Books Roadshow event and I need to read it now! Its by the author who brought us The Tales of Despereaux and sounds fantastic, it wanders between novel and graphic novel and tell the tale of Flora, a young girl, Ulysses, a vacuum cleaner, and a squirel… I am so intrigued to find out more!
Thank you SOOOO much Hannah at Walker for sending me this!

This was another from Quercus which was unsolicited. Its a New Adult book about a 22 year old gradute in Brooklyn. I might read it but if I do it will be my first NA and I really haven’t had much interest in the range so far even though I’m pretty much in its target audience. If I don’t read it I will get it sent to someone who will.

I have been excited for Sun since I saw a lot of my favourite authors raving about it on twitter and their blogs. I know Zoe Marriott loved it and I trust her judgement so much that I already think I’m going to love it! Its a Japanese fantasy which I usually love and its about magic…. I don’t think it could tick anymore boxes for me! Thank you so much MiraInk for sending me a copy of this!

Gifted:

This was sent to me from the lovely Cait at the Cait Files, she mentioned that she had a copy but wasn’t that into the idea of it and as it’s been on my wishlist for ages she offered me it! The whole idea of this sounds really interesting to me as its about going back to deal with the world how the Main Characters Grandma would have done when she was a teen in the 1960s. I can’t wait to find out if the idea meets my expectations. Thanks so much for this Cait!
