Letterbox Love (#43)

Welcome to Letterbox Love, this is a UK meme, hosted by the lovely Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and inspired by The Story Siren’s In My Mailbox. This post is a means by which to highlight the books we get in the post and beyond, and especially to bring attention to those books which may be sat on our shelves for a little while yet that we love all the same.

A few awesome books this week, modelled by my mate Terry the Triceratops!
For Review:

I have heard amazing things about Wein’s first novel Code Name Verity but haven’t got round to getting hold of a copy myself. This has been on my wishlist too since I spoke to a friend about it last week but the wonderful people at Electric Monkey sent it over for me. Thanks guys!

I actually got a proof copy of this a few weeks ago and I read it last week, its fantastic and I definitely recommend it! As I have a proof I think I’ll be giving this one away at some point on the blog so look out for that. Thanks Electric Monkey again though!

Again this one is an Electric Monkey title and in all honesty, I hadn’t heard of it until it landed on my doorstep. It looks and sounds great though so I’ll be digging in soon!

Bought:

So last week I popped into Manchester to catch up with Cait from The Cait Files… and as usual she tried talking me into reading this books yet again. This time I relented and bought the first one with the promise that I will read it soon, and definitely before the movie comes out! Lets hope I like it!

This was on the buy one get one half price offer that City Of Bones was on so I thought I’d pick it up… it’s been on my wishlist for ages and I love historical fiction so I can’t wait to give it a read. The author comes highly recommended from her first book Between Shades of Gray so I am expecting to love this one!
  • Great haul! I LOVED Code name Verity and am just dying to read Rose Under Fire, so really looking forward to seeing what you think of it. Shipwrecked is another book I really want to read, as is Out of the Easy. I read Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys last week and it was just beautiful!

  • I got Shipwrecked this week, really looking forward to it 🙂

  • I’ve seen Charm and Strange on a few blogs and I love the cover. Will definitely be going to find out more about it.

  • Yes yes yes!! Out of the Easy!!! Tis brilliant! x

  • Out of the Easy is so good, and I can’t believe you haven’t read City of Bones yet! I hope you enjoy it 🙂

  • I read City of Bones a couple summers ago and I really enjoyed it! I also read Out of The Easy and it was pretty interesting. I hope you enjoy everything you got this week 🙂
