In My Mailbox (#14)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi, The Story Siren, you probably already know that but if you don’t, go here and find out more!!

I got a pretty damn awesome mailbox this week it has to be said!
Bought:
Divergent – Veronica Roth
Life on the Refrigerator Door – Alice Kuipers
I saw Life on the Refridgerator Door in Waterstones last week and I wanted to buy it but I was kinda put off paying 6.99 for a book that looks like it’ll take me a grand total of about an hour to read (I’m terrible I know!) but then I got home and was so annoyed at not buying it that I decided to buy it from Amazon anyway! I got divergent in Asda for a grand total of £3.96! I’ve been meaning to buy it so why not eh?!
Library/borrowed:
As You Wish – Jackson Pearce
Starcrossed – Josephine Angelini
I loved Sisters Red and I really want to read As You Wish so when I was checking out my other local library for the first time I was very excited to see it sitting there on the shelves! 😀
I will admit that when I first saw Starcrossed on netgalley and saw it compared to Twilight I was instantly put off… then I read the awesome Zoe Marriott’s post about how she loved it and the gorgeous Emma at Bookangel’s Booktopia raved about it and I relised that I probably need to read this book! Thankfully Emma came to the recuse and nicely informed me that she’d passed it on to Laura AKA Sister Spooky, who in turn would be passing it onto me!! 😀 you cant imagine how much I squee’d at this and then this week it turned up with an awesome postcard from the awesome Laura!
For Review:
We Can Be Heroes – Catherine Bruton
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs
The Captain Jack Sparrow Handbook – Jason Heller
I was over the moon when Egmont emailed me about We Can Be Heroes, it was Egmont! 😀 argh! but also, the book sounded awesome so I didn’t want to turn it down. I cant wait to get it started!
Also I cant wait to sink my teeth into Miss Peregrine as I think its going to be awesome! I wont read it before bed though… I’m not that silly. Captian Jack’s handbook is an indulgence for me… I was asked if I wanted it for review and I dont usually read and review non-fic but I couldnt help myself… I love Captain Jack and the first three pirates movies… I hope its as awesome as I think it will be!
Gifted/Won:
Huntress – Malinda Lo
Across The Universe – Beth Revis
Being Billy – Phil Earle
I won Huntress from Atoms website… I couldn’t believe it when I get the email, I must be lucky cos I can imagine they got a lot of entries for that comp!
Also I sent the lovely Michelle at Fluttering Butterflies a book a few weeks back and in return she offered to send me something, because shes awesome like that! So this week a parcel arrived and in it was not one, but two books! Thank you so much for these Michelle, I can’t wait to read either! 😀
What was in your mailbox this week?
