    Our Latest Library Haul

We visited the library recently and I wanted to share with you guys the books we picked up. Visiting the library is one of the best things to both me and Spike. She loves it because she gets undivided attention and to read as many books as she can find, and I love it to nurture her love of reading. We’re really lucky that our libraries have good opening hours. The one in our town is open until 7pm some nights, and the one in the city, 6 miles away, is open on a Sunday. Its often on a rainy sunday that we take shelter there and thats what we…

    Catching up: Books received

So I haven’t do any kind of book haul for quite some time and while things have seriously slowed down with books coming in for review (something I did purposely because I wasn’t getting round to reviews) I have still got some through and I want to give these a shout out with a big thank you to the publishers who have sent them. There are also some books sent through from authors and that I have bought myself so thanks to those authors and the awesome bookshops I’ve bought them from! These books made their way onto my shelves between September and January! [one_half_first] Little Stars – Jacqueline Wilson –…

A HUGE book shout-out and thank you!

While I’ve been hardly blogging recently (and I think you’ll agree I kinda had a valid excuse!) I have been turning down review requests and not putting any orders in really. In the past 2 months I have asked for 1 single book to be sent to me which I was offered and even then I told the publisher straight that I wasn’t really reading much at the minute because of Spike and if they didn’t feel that I was the best person to send that book to then that is understandable. They sent it though and I am EXCEPTIONALLY grateful because I really, really wanted to read it! However…

    January Book Haul

Good Morning lovely people! I hope all is well in the world of books and blogs! I realised this morning that I hadn’t done a Letterbox Love for around 6 weeks and thats bad, I know. I wanted to but being busy and not having much time for blogging has left me a little behind. After thinking about it I know I’m not going to have much time at all from now on so I am going to stop doing a weekly Letterbox Love and just do a monthly book haul. This post is a little bit of a lie because I did get some of these books for Christmas and…

    Letterbox Love (#98)

Letterbox Love is a weekly feature that is hosted by Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e-books (through our electronic letterbox) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about. For Review:  The Door that Led to Where – Sally Gardner  The latest book from the incredible Sally Gardner has one of the coolest covers I have ever seen and I can’t wait to read it. I honestly would read anything this author wrote but thank you to Hot Key for sending this book out! Published: January 1st 2015  Vendetta – Catherine Doyle  This…

    Letterbox Love (#97)

Letterbox Love is a weekly feature that is hosted by Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e-books (through our electronic letterbox) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about. This week I didn’t actually have any books that arrived through my letterbox. Instead I had picked up a few at the Walker Books Blogger Brunch that they kindly put on for us. The books were given in goodie bags which each contained a Make your Own Gingerbread House Kit, a candy cane, some chocolate santas and some bookmarks. In addition I received the…

    Letterbox Love (#96)

Letterbox Love is a weekly feature that is hosted by Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e-books (through our electronic letterbox) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about. For Review:  A Whisper of Wolves – Kris Humphrey (Unsolicited) This arrived in a beautifully presented way, wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with twine, with a white feather enclosed within the package and a letter from the publisher, sealed with wax, explaining what the book is about. I love it when publisher do that, especially with books that you haven’t heard of because it…

    Letterbox Love (#95)

Letterbox Love is a weekly feature that is hosted by Lynsey at Narratively Speaking and is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e-books (through our electronic letterbox) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about.  This is an entire month of books, not just this week! I have been a bit slow in putting a letterbox love post up but I have been keeping the books to one side so I could share them with you all! For Review:  The Art of Asking – Amanda Palmer (Unsolicited)  This turned up at my work (I’m still investigating that one!) and…
