Undone – Cat Clarke trailer

This trailer was released by Quercus for Cat Clarke’s upcoming Undone, out on December 20th in ebook and January 31st in paperback. I loved this book and my review will be up next Wednesday. The trailer is good and well made but does have a couple of factual inaccuracies which I’m a little picky about but I guess I can live with that. I really would recommend adding this one to your pre-orders though, its amazing.
Goodreads Summary:
Jem Halliday is in love with her gay best friend. Not exactly ideal, but she’s learning to live with it.

Then the unspeakable happens. Kai is outed online … and he kills himself.

Jem knows nothing she can say or do will bring him back. But she wants to know who was responsible.
And she wants to take them down.

A searing story of love, revenge and betrayal from a bestselling author.

Dance of Shadows – Yelena Black Trailer

I haven’t got round to reading the copy of Dance of Shadows that is sat on my tbr yet, but I cannot wait to now. This trailer has got me excited to find out what is going on and looks awesome. It makes me wish I could do ballet, but maybe not at that school! Dance of Shadows will be released by Bloomsbury in February.
Goodreads Summary:
Vanessa doesn’t believe that her sister is a runaway. She wouldn’t leave her family behind without saying a word. The only way Vanessa can discover the truth behind her mysterious disappearance is to follow in Margaret’s footsteps, but to do so she risks her sanity and maybe even her life . . .

Vanessa Adler is one of the talented few to get a place at the acclaimed New York Ballet Academy. Between backbreaking rehearsals for the school’s production of The Firebird she desperately tries to find out what happened to her sister before she vanished. There are rumors that the pressure of performing the lead role, the same role Vanessa is now rehearsing for, drove her mad. Other girls have gone missing too. Can the role be cursed? Vanessa’s new relationship with leading-man Zep only seems to complicate things further. What is he hiding from her and can she really trust him?

Black Swan meets Gossip Girl in this thrilling first book in a new series. Sexy, sinister and full of secrets, readers will be hooked on Dance of Shadows from the first page. Look out for the sequel in 2014.

Beautiful Creatures From Book to Screen video

Warner Bros released this video about the making of the new Beautiful Creatures movie this week. As long time readers may remember I adored this book and I cannot wait to see it come to life on the big screen, with actors like Emma Thompson and Jeremy Irons. This video is really cool and we get to hear from the authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and wha their reactions to the set were. Theres also a new trailer for the movie which is due out in March:

New Books for the publishers

David Levithan’s Every Day (US Version)
There have been a few awesome acquisitions for some publishers recently. The news that David Levithan’s Every Day has been taken on by Electric Monkey came from this booktrade article. I’m very excited for this since I’ve read US reviews of Every Day and it sounds good!
Templar also have some new authors joining the team with Claire McFall’s Ferryman due in March – a debut from the author about love, death and the afterlife. They have also signed Justin Richards’s The Wolfstone Curse which is being described as a werewolf novel for Dr Who fans! Then another addition to the team is Emily Diamond, who’s novel Flood Child was published back in 2009 with Chicken House. Emily’s new book will be called Ways to See a Ghost and features Ghosts, UFO chasers, Clairvoyants and Demons… sounds good! Both The Wolfstone Curse and Ways To See a Ghost will be published ion July next year.
