Harry Potters biggest fan
The above image shows the wonderful entry from Alissa, the 17 year old from Somerset, who has won the accolade of Britain's Biggest Harry Potter fan. The competition was launched to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone and ran across the country with postboxes in libraries and bookshops accepting entries. I personally love Alissa's entry, especially the way it ends, but do not envy the people who had to make the decision as the runner up entries were awesome too! Well done to Alissa and the runners up, whose entries are all available to view on the KidsBloomsbury facebook page.

Meet Celaena Sardothien.
Beautiful. Deadly. Destined for greatness.
In the dark, filthy salt mines of Endovier, an eighteen-year-old girl is serving a life sentence. She is a trained assassin, the best of her kind, but she made a fatal mistake: she got caught.
Young Captain Westfall offers her a deal: her freedom in return for one huge sacrifice. Celaena must represent the prince in a to-the-death tournament—fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. Live or die, Celaena will be free. Win or lose, she is about to discover her true destiny. But will her assassin’s heart be melted? (taken from Goodreads)

Breathe - Sarah Crossan
When oxygen levels plunge in a treeless world, a state lottery decides which lucky few will live inside the Pod. Everyone else will slowly suffocate.
Years after the Switch, life inside the Pod has moved on. A poor Auxiliary class cannot afford the oxygen tax which supplies extra air for running, dancing and sports. The rich Premiums, by contrast, are healthy and strong. Anyone who opposes the regime is labelled a terrorist and ejected from the Pod to die.
Sixteen-year-old Alina is part of the secret resistance, but when a mission goes wrong she is forced to escape from the Pod. With only two days of oxygen in her tank, she too faces the terrifying prospect of death by suffocation. Her only hope is to find the mythical Grove, a small enclave of trees protected by a hardcore band of rebels. Does it even exist, and if so, what or who are they protecting the trees from? (taken from Goodreads)
You can read the first chapter of the new Sarah Crossan novel, Breathe, here now. I will be taking part in a blog tour for this in October and I can't wait to read it, it sounds so good!
